Spirit-filled
We expect the Holy Spirit to transform lives through worship, prayer, Scripture and the gifts He gives His church.
Since 1937, Berea Temple has been a place of prayer, Pentecostal faith and missionary purpose. Today, Jesus is forming one church family from many cultures and generations.

We are becoming a church family that reflects the nations in St. Louis-united in Christ without erasing the beauty of our cultures.
From our neighborhood to the world, we share the good news of Jesus and serve people with compassion and practical love.
Building an inclusive global community where faith grows, relationships thrive and service abounds.
Uniting people in a vibrant, loving community to live out their faith and create lasting, transformative change.
Berea Temple began as a prayer meeting in a St. Louis home. Across generations, the form of the ministry has changed, but its heartbeat has remained: Pentecostal faith, courageous mission and room for the next person Jesus brings.
Paul Byerly gathered believers to pray. A new church was born from that simple, faithful beginning.
Under Pastor J. D. Cockman, the congregation dedicated its church building and deepened its worship and missionary identity.
Pastor Jerry Harris led a new season of outward-focused ministry, serving families and rebuilding connection with the surrounding community.
Berea Temple is becoming a multicultural church for St. Louis-welcoming immigrants, neighbors and families from every background into one life in Christ.

Pastor Mike has served as Berea Temple's lead pastor since October 2021. With more than twenty years of ministry experience-including church planting and local church leadership-he carries a deep love for St. Louis and a clear calling to help people from every nation know Jesus, grow in faith and find family.
Berea Temple is an Assemblies of God congregation. We embrace the Bible as God's Word, salvation through Jesus Christ, the present work of the Holy Spirit and the mission Jesus gives His church.
Whatever your culture, language or story, you are welcome to encounter Jesus with us. Our main worship gathering is currently in English, and our heart is for every nation in St. Louis.
